Well. That was certainly rousing, wasn't it? One can never really quite know what to expect. On the other hand, at least some of the bigger picture is finally known. [There was a bit of a pause as he took a sip from a cup of coffee.] I do hope that everyone is well.

Perhaps now there will be a bit of a calm since those do tend to be nice before the next big storm.

I have seen it happen many times.

Is there a lot of unrest in your world?

Da, ever since I was very small.

[identity profile] defyantigravity.livejournal.com 2011-09-29 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
How unfortunate. It sounds like it's been for quite a while. Localised or more regional? Perhaps global?

...All of those.

[identity profile] defyantigravity.livejournal.com 2011-09-29 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
There's more to the story than being let on, isn't there?

[personal profile] vodkas 2011-09-29 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. My bosses always kept much from masses, and peasants remained ignorant for centuries. Same can be true in Somarium.

[identity profile] defyantigravity.livejournal.com 2011-09-29 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Hmm. That was certainly one way of looking at it.] You know a lot about this. Some things never seem to change through the centures, do they?

I have been around much longer than you. It is human nature to act in such way.

[identity profile] defyantigravity.livejournal.com 2011-09-29 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
How long have you been around, if I may ask. [It was an interesting concept.]

[personal profile] vodkas 2011-09-29 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Alive, more than one thousand years. In Somarium... around nine months.

[identity profile] defyantigravity.livejournal.com 2011-09-29 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
Over a thousand years? [Before coming to Somarium, he'd call him insane for such a claim. On the other hand, he could be the Highlander...] Do you have a long life-span or immortality?

I am country. Land of Russia is still well and thriving, so I continue to live. Simple as that.

[identity profile] defyantigravity.livejournal.com 2011-09-29 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
[So it seems Austria isn't the only person who makes claims of being a country. Whatever happened to just claiming to be Napoleon?] In that case, you definitely would quality as an expert on the topic of unrest.

What's it like knowing that you could pretty much live forever? It sounds like it could be a blessing and a curse.

Outliving every human is upsetting. That is why nations often befriend each other.

[identity profile] defyantigravity.livejournal.com 2011-10-03 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
But what about outliving other nations? I'm sure you've seen your share of the rise and fall of them. Prussia, Persia, the Roman Empire. Actually, I'm also a bit intersted in learning about the creation of new nations. For example, take the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Are they represented by two individuals or just one? [Pausing for a moment, he thought about something.] That's actually a good case to consider for me, especially seeing that the lands they were created from used to be a part of Austria-Hungary.

[What he really wants to do is ask about the countries that came out of the break-up of the USSR but he's not too sure if it's a safe subject to get into.]

Fallen nations disappear and new nations just appear. We do not have influence over this, but discovery of new friends is exciting!

[Don't ask about the USSR, bro. The one thing that can make Russia depressed is talking about his sisters...]

[identity profile] defyantigravity.livejournal.com 2011-10-05 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
That's certainly interesting. Though I can see how it would make sense that way. [Thankfully he's not out to depress nations. ...though that would be an accomplishment.]

So what are the perks of being a nation, besides living long?

As long as economy is doing well, perfect health.

[identity profile] defyantigravity.livejournal.com 2011-10-06 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
So how does that work here, then? Can you still "sense" things from back home or...?

...Nyet.

We are too far separated.

[identity profile] defyantigravity.livejournal.com 2011-10-09 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
A shame. Does it bother you?

Feeling is very unpleasant, like emptiness inside.

[He places his hand on his chest, and if Arthur is observant enough, he might notice that something appears to have just attempted to fall out of Russia's chest. But that's crazy, right? Must've been a trick of the light...]

[identity profile] defyantigravity.livejournal.com 2011-10-09 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Either Russia keeps a rodent in his pocket or he's even more interesting than Arthur originally thought. Whatever it may be, it definitely has his interest as he's sure just about anything is possible.

...even miniature scarecrows or something.]
Was that something in your pocket?

Oh, nothing important.
